British Credit Trust (BCT) is one of the oldest car finance companies in the UK. It started life as the finance company Bentinck Motor Supply Co. which was incorporated as a limited company in 1911 having been originally established in 1908. Throughout the years, BCT has had various names and has been controlled by a few different institutions, but in 1973 finally changed its name to British Credit Trust and in 1998 Nikko (Europe) plc acquired BCT. Seven Mile Capital Partners purchased a series of discreet portfolios of Sub-prime auto loans and the right to the name and operations of BCT.
